Congressional Candidate Byron Donalds Announces Second Quarter Earnings and Conservative Campaign Spending

July 18, 2012 CONRIC PR

Byron Donalds, a conservative Republican who is running for the hotly contested District 19 Congressional seat, reported second quarter fundraising results of $80,000, bringing his year to date total to $102,000. Donalds has spent 65 percent less than most of his opponents to run his grassroots campaign, yet has amassed widespread citizen support – including five voter straw poll wins from Marco Island to Cape Coral, one of which was held by the Lee County Republican Executive Committee.

Donalds also has tallied more than 100 citizen endorsements, is the peer-selected GOOOH (Get Out Of Our House) candidate, and is supported by former presidential candidate Herman Cain. He credits hundreds of volunteers with getting his name and position on the issues in front of the citizens he wants to represent in Congress.

“My campaign is proof that you don’t need to raise a lot, or spend a lot, to connect with voters,” said Donalds, whose campaign expenditures are $47,500 to date and campaign staff are all volunteers. “What our citizens want is to hear from someone who is on their side and who has a plan for returning to a conservative, constitutional foundation for America. Instead of spending my time fundraising, I have spent it meeting with voters, hearing their concerns, and sharing my clear vision for individual liberty, fiscal responsibility and economic growth.”

As he enters the final month of campaigning before the August 14th primary election, Donalds will continue his grassroots efforts to reach as many District 19 citizens as possible with his plans for health care reform, taxes and economic policy, spending controls, the national debt, immigration and education.

“I’m so grateful to the hundreds of people who regularly volunteer for our campaign and help me get my message of constitutional conservatism to the voters. We are determined to give the people what they want, someone they can truly count on in Washington to return America to the principles on which it was founded.”
