The Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair Association is pleased to announce it has named Fran Crone as its new fair manager. Her responsibilities include organizing the annual fair, overseeing subcommittees, securing sponsorships, marketing, coordinating vendors and managing entertainment agreements.
A native of Lee County, Crone brings a diverse background in management, including 13 years of experience with the City of Fernandina Beach, working as an assistant to the city manager and later as a legal assistant to the city attorney. Her prior experience also includes running a family owned boat/motor dealership business, as well as 14 years with the City of Fort Myers, the last of which were as the operations manager for the Parks & Beautification Department.
Crone has previously been involved with the Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair Association, assisting with office management as well as policy and procedure structure and revisions for the Board of Trustees.
“I am happy and excited to be able to serve the Board of Trustees of the Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair Association in this capacity,” Crone said. “This is a multifaceted, fast-paced business, and I am looking forward to the opportunities to learn and grow and meet new faces along the way.”
The Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair has been making memories since 1924. The 90th Annual Southwest Florida and Lee County Fair will run from February 27 to March 9, 2014. Attendance in 2013 was just under 100,000.
