Fathoms and Harley Davidson of Fort Myers present Oktoberfest
Warm up your yodeler and get your stein-hefting arm in condition, because Oktoberfest is coming to Cape Harbour October 3 – 5. Presented by Fathoms Restaurant & Bar in association with Harley Davidson of Fort Myers, it all starts at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 3 with local German band Haffenkable on hand to put a little oompah in your step. A ceremonial tapping of the keg at 6 officially kicks off a jam-packed weekend of local music acts, games for the kids and authentic German delicacies.
Fall is finally here after a long, hot summer and the authentic biergarten at Cape Harbour’s Expo Island will be the perfect place to soak in the cooler weather, and take in the sights and sounds along with a cold pint. Let the youngsters entertain themselves in the Kid Zone, featuring lots of games and fun activities planned just for them.
Fathoms Restaurant & Bar, which just opened on Sept. 23, is set to throw this amazing bash as an appreciation for the warm welcome it has received from Southwest Florida and the wonderful shops, galleries and eateries at Cape Harbour. The waterfront restaurant will be dishing out fresh homemade pretzels, slow braised pork shanks, a unique twist on a beef sauerbraten, Bavarian potato dumplings and—of course—plenty of juicy bratwursts.
Fathoms is dedicated to bringing Southwest Florida’s most exciting musical acts to the stage throughout the week, and the entertainment roster for Oktoberfest is brimming with local talent including Soapy Tuna, David Barber, Stolen Fruit and Chris Workman. Other fun includes a “Howl at the Moon” yodeling competition. Attendees might want to help themselves to another bratwurst to keep their strength up for the Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Competition. Who will be crowned Miss Oktoberfest 2014? You’ll have to find out Sunday afternoon as this lively event comes to an end.
For the full Oktoberfest schedule, including a pre-event poker tournament on Oct. 2 to benefit Child Care of Southwest Florida, visit fathomsrestaurant.com. Lederhosen optional!
Oktoberfest is made possible by the support of Harley Davidson of Fort Myers and the other generous sponsors, including Budweiser, Jägermeister, Samuel Adams, Banfi Wines and Audi Jaguar Land Rover of Fort Myers.
