Congressional Candidate Byron Donalds Receives Endorsement from former Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack

July 11, 2012 CONRIC PR

Byron Donalds, a political grassroots leader and Republican candidate for Florida’s District 19 Congressional Seat, has been endorsed by Richard Mack, a conservative activist, author and public speaker and the former sheriff of Graham County, Arizona. Mack is the 100th person to endorse Donalds as part of the “Citizens for Byron Donalds” initiative, found at www.byrondonalds.com/blog.

Mack is nationally known for his advocacy of Second Amendment rights. During his tenure as a local sheriff, he sued the federal government and won for his opposition to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act on the basis that it is unconstitutional due to congressional action to compel state officers to execute federal law. The portion of the Brady law mandating local sheriffs perform background checks was declared to be unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court as a result.

“It is both an honor and a privilege for me to endorse Byron Donalds for the U.S. House of Representatives,” said Mack. “His experience and dedication make him an ideal and qualified candidate. However, the most important aspect of Byron’s qualifications include his commitment to American ideals, to our Constitution, and to the principles of liberty America was founded upon. I pray that we are able to get Byron Donalds and many more just like him to serve us in Washington.”

Donalds said he is grateful for Mack’s endorsement, noting the former sheriff’s courage to stand up to the federal government’s erosion of Second Amendment rights, and applauding Mack’s Constitutional, conservative positions on the issues facing the country.

“Sheriff Mack is an important leader in the national movement to restore America to a Constitutional Republic. I applaud his stand against big government’s erosion of our Second Amendment rights,” said Donalds. “We are like-minded on our goals for this great nation I am humbled by his support for my campaign.”
