“Shoe Away Ovarian Cancer” Event for The Betty Allen Ovarian Cancer Foundation

Saks Fifth Avenue at Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers is holding a “Shoe Away Ovarian Cancer” event on Thursday, September 26th from 6 – 9 p.m. Limited VIP tickets are $100 and include a Saks Fifth Avenue gift card, complimentary raffle tickets to win a pair of Jimmy Choos, champagne and more! 10  % of sales up to $1,000 benefit The Betty Allen Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

Guests will enjoy music and tasteful creations by Chef Brian Roland while viewing the latest shoe designs. Shoe modeling begins at 7 p.m. Also, all attendees can enter to win a pair of Stuart Weitzman pumps by wearing their most fabulous and extravagant pair of shoes. A panel of judges will select a winner. Sponsors include 21st Century Oncology, Saks Gives, and Gulfshore Life.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2013, about 22,240 new cases of ovarian cancer will be diagnosed and 14,030 women will die of ovarian cancer in the United States. Show your support for the women affected by this deadly disease by wearing teal, the color of ovarian cancer awareness, on National Wear Teal Day, this Friday, September 6, 2013.  The Betty Allen Ovarian Cancer Foundation encourages you to share your photos from this day on their Facebook page.
