Tickets are going fast for Margaret Carlson’s keynote at The Tiger Bay Club of Southwest Florida gala event on October 2, 2013 at the Harborside Event Center (1375 Monroe St.) in Fort Myers. Carlson, who serves as Chief Political Columnist at Bloomberg News and Washington Editor of The Week Magazine, will offer powerful insight into the inner workings of Washington that can only come from someone with her experience and skills. As one of the most respected political journalists today, Carlson’s observations will offer an inside look at what is really going on in Washington. This Washington insider will speak on current hot topics such as immigration, tax reform, and emerging candidates for the 2016 election.

Margaret Carlson is the Washington editor of THE WEEK and a political columnist for Bloomberg News. In 1988, Carlson joined TIME magazine and served as White House correspondent and deputy Washington bureau chief. From 1994 to 2005, she wrote the “Public Eye” column for TIME magazine, becoming the first female columnist in the magazine’s history. At CNN, Carlson appeared on Crossfire and Inside Politics and for 15 years, served as a panelist weekly on The Capital Gang. Her journalism career has also included stints as managing editor at The New Republic and Washington bureau chief for Esquire magazine. Carlson earned a law degree from George Washington University Law School and completed her undergraduate work at Penn State University. She has one daughter and lives in Washington, D.C.
