Junior League of Fort Myers fair promotes a healthy lifestyle for children

Kristianna Rodriguez, an attorney at Grossman Law & Conflict Management, is proud to serve as Chair of the event committee for Junior League of Fort Myers’ Kids in the Kitchen Fair, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 8, 2014 at the Edison Child Care Center, 13311 Edison Lane in Fort Myers. This free event is a kid friendly fair for children ages 3 to 15 that teaches the importance of healthy eating and an active lifestyle.

Kids in the Kitchen will feature activity stations related to general health, food and nutrition, exercise and fitness, and agriculture. Children will be treated to a free lunch and, after participating in educational activities, be entered into a raffle for prizes related to a fun, active lifestyle, including bikes, balls and Razor scooters.

Grossman-RodriquezRodriguez said obesity prevention is a major benefit of the Kids in the Kitchen program, which has run locally since 2010. She has also been a member of Junior League since that year. “I have always been interested in and committed to community service,” she stated. “Junior League has been an excellent organization to demonstrate this commitment. Community service not only benefits others, but it benefits volunteers by providing an outlet for the expression of compassion towards fellow human beings.”

Junior League of Fort Myers is a local chapter of the Association of Junior League International, Inc., an educational and charitable organization of women that promotes volunteerism, community improvement and leadership development.

Managing Partner Keith Grossman said, “The attorneys and staff at Grossman Law & Conflict Management are encouraged to participate in community causes. Kristianna’s experiences inspire everyone here to be more involved.”

In addition to Junior League of Fort Myers, Rodriguez is also an Ambassador of Goodwill for Rotary International and a member of the Lee County Bar Association.
