Connie Ramos-Williams, president of CONRIC PR & Marketing, was named as one of six Lee County Women of Distinction and went on to win the title of ‘Woman of the Year’ at the inaugural Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony hosted by the Republican Women of Cape Coral, Federated. The sold-out event held at the Lake Kennedy Community Center on Friday April 7, 2017, celebrated women’s accomplishments and contributions to the Lee County community. According to RWCCF president Missi Lastra, Ramos-Williams’ history of success in business, service to the community and mentorship of women and students serves as an inspiration for all.
“What an honor to be nominated for the very first Women of Distinction Awards and to be selected as the inaugural Woman of the Year in Lee County,” exclaimed Ramos-Williams. “As Woman of the Year, my hope is to continue to inspire, empower and mentor the dynamic women in our community to take on leadership roles to lead the charge for positive progress and ethical behavior.” 
Other Women of Distinction Award winners included business professionals, a public official, an educator and a student who ranged in age, profession and community involvement. The remaining five 2017 Women of Distinction included Rana Erbrick, Mary Hess, Robin Dawn Ryan, Shannon Treece and Sally Jackson. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the group’s Caring for America projects, which addresses veteran issues such as training rescue dogs for veterans with PTSD.
The Republican Women of Cape Coral, Federated
The Republican Women of Cape Coral, Federated are the “Ladies Leading Right” in Cape Coral. The group was chartered in April 2016 with 11 members. The group is part of the National Federation of Republican Women and the Florida Federation of Republican Women. The group meets every third Thursday at Personal Touch Catering Banquet Room on Santa Barbara Boulevard. The meetings include dinner and topical speakers.
