Association for Talent Development hosting webinar to help develop strong and influential leaders

August 12, 2020 CONRIC PR

Strong leadership is synonymous with influence and persuasive communication skills are every leader’s tools of the trade. Being influential requires a keen external and interpersonal awareness that ensures what is being communicated is specifically targeted for the audience. Join Dr. Brian Moffitt, owner of The Leadership Forum and adjunct Communication Professor at Keiser University, as he offers strategies to develop leadership influence through persuasive communication at the upcoming Association for Talent Development (ATD) Southwest Florida Chapter webinar on Wednesday, August 26 from 12-1 p.m.

Moffitt will share four communication strategies that address the needs of audiences on every level of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to connect and inspire others. His approach will address the ATD Capability Model through the Professional Capabilities section for Career and Leadership Development.

The ability to influence others verbally and in writing is a vital skill for ATD practitioners and leaders at all levels in an organization. In this interactive session, participants will:

·       define persuasion and understanding your audience/listener(s),

·       explore the different types of persuasive messages/speeches and

·       review different methods of persuasion, including credibility, evidence, reasoning, needs satisfaction, motivation and emotional appeals.

Registration for this online program is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Members are allowed one guest for free. Students are $10. Register online at: www.atdswfl.org. Deadline to register is Tuesday, August 25. This session is eligible for 1 ATD Educational Credit.
