Attorney Henry Lee Paul Appointed to Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism

Attorney Henry Lee Paul, who serves clients statewide from his offices in Fort Myers and Tampa, has been appointed to the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism for a four-year term. Paul also will serve three years on The Florida Bar Board of Governor’s Standing Committee on Professionalism. Both terms start July 1.

Paul, with 27 years experience, focuses primarily on providing legal representation to attorneys and bar applicants, and also represents clients in business disputes. Paul is A/V rated by Martindale Hubbard.

The mission of the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism is to promote the fundamental ideals and values of the justice system within the legal system, and to instill those ideals of character, competence and commitment in those working in the Florida legal system. The commission plans and implements programs promoting the ideals and goals of professionalism, and establishes the policies of the Florida Bar Center and is its governing board. As a commission member, Paul also will speak at functions throughout the state.

Paul served as Bar Counsel for The Florida Bar for six years, which included service as liaison to two of the Southwest Florida Grievance Committees.  He defends lawyers in lawyer regulation cases, legal malpractice cases and law firm disputes, and represents applicants before the Florida Board of Bar Examiners.

Paul completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University in 1981 and received his law degree from Stetson University in 1984. He has been a member of The Florida Bar and has actively practiced law since 1985. Paul was employed with the firm that became known as Lazzara & Paul, P. A. from 1984 to 1997. In 1997, Paul started the firm of Paul & Singer, P. A. and practiced with this firm until 2005. Paul served as Bar Counsel from 2005 to January 2012, when he returned to private practice and founded Henry Lee Paul, P.A., with offices in Tampa and Fort Myers.
