a little bit about me
Communication has been the cornerstone of Kirsten O’Donnell’s career path, from her time as a college speech professor, a television sports reporter and anchor, and as an award-winning public relations and marketing professional. As Director of Marketing at CONRIC, she channels these varied experiences into her work developing, implementing, and measuring strategic communications and marketing campaigns.
Kirsten grew up in metro Detroit and loves her home town, but since college she’s worked her way south towards warmer weather. After earning degrees in communication from Oakland (Mich.) University and Central Michigan University, she made career stops in Missouri and Georgia before coming to Southwest Florida as a sports journalist in 2005. She counts two trips to the Super Bowl among her career highlights.
When the Great Recession came, Kirsten pivoted into a career in public relations and marketing and has never looked back. Her experience includes positions at Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, the City of Fort Myers, and the Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida. Along the way, she picked up an MBA with a concentration in marketing from the University of Phoenix, which has provided her with great insight into the variety of business clients she assists through CONRIC.
In her free time, Kirsten produces and co-hosts the “Florida Freakshow” podcast with her husband, Cory, and serves as a commission-appointed member of the Lee County Community Action Agency. On weekends, you can often find her at the Cape Coral Animal Shelter, where she gets her weekly dose of cuteness volunteering as a cat cuddler.
WHY I CHOSE CONRIC
“I’ve known Connie since I first started in public relations, and have always admired and respected CONRIC’s growth and ability to get results. After years of watching from afar, it’s a thrill to now be a part of this team of professionals.”
