FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 22, 2019) — It’s the new and growing computer fear where one is denied access until a ransom is paid. That alarming issue will be the topic of discussion during the final Above Board Chamber meetings of 2019. “Ransomware for Today’s Technology!” is the topic for the Monday, Dec. 9 meeting at the Hilton Naples, 5111 Tamiami Trail N., and the Thursday, Dec. 12 meeting at the Crowne Plaza Fort Myers at Bell Tower Shops, 13051 Bell Tower Drive.
The Naples luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost on or before Thursday, Dec. 5, is $30 for members and $38 for non-members. After Dec. 5, it’s $35 for members and $40 for non-members. Lunch is included in the price.
The panel of experts discussing ransomware, which typically spreads through emails or entering an infected website, are: Carrie Kerskie: nationally recognized identity theft, fraud and data privacy expert, as well as a national speaker and author;
Jordi Tejero: owner of award-winning CRS Technology, which was recognized by the Uncommon Friends Foundation in 2015 with its business ethics award and was an Industry Appreciation Awards winner in 2006; Rachel Busch: director of sales for Cigent Managed Services, which offers cybersecurity solutions; and Lt. Chad Parker: supervisor of the Financial Crimes Bureau of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
