FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 8, 2022) – The Above Board Chamber of Florida understands the Southwest Florida community has endured much hardship since Ian hit just over one month ago. Many lost their lives, some their homes and jobs, and we all, as a community, know that things will never be the same; but this unfortunate event also affords us the opportunity to come back better and stronger. The Above Board Chamber has assembled a panel of local mental health experts to offer free advice, tools, and programs that will help to overcome loss and manage stress while supporting our families, employees, neighbors, and friends in moving forward. The “Looking Past the Storm and Finding the New and Stronger You!” panel will meet via Zoom on Monday, Nov. 14, from 11:45 to 1 p.m.
“Even if there was no damage to your home or personal belongings, everyone has been hurt. Kindness to all is needed at this time,” said Jeanne Sweeney, CEO and founder of Above Board Chamber of Florida. “Please take the time to listen to everyone’s story; let them have a voice; that is how we can all heal together. This is so needed right now and I’m excited to welcome our expert panel to offer some great advice on how to heal ourselves and be better so we can also help each other to recover and come back even stronger than before.”
Conveniently held during lunch hour, “Looking Past the Storm and Finding the New and Stronger You!” may be especially helpful to the business community as many are concerned about the storm’s impact on the mental health of staff and clients.
Registration is $20 per person for the Zoom event featuring emcee Vicki Tracy, Chief Operating Officer, Gulf Coast International Properties and panelists Scott Burgess, Chief Executive Officer at David Lawrence Center; Dawn Belamarich, System Director for Behavioral Health at Lee Physician Group; and Beth Hatch, CEO at Nami Collier County. Event sponsors are Connie Ramos-Williams, CMO at CONRIC pr + marketing, and Vicki Tracy.
