Elizabeth (Betsy) Barbour, an American field linguist with over four decades of field-based experience will be the featured speaker at the Association for Talent Development’s virtual chapter meeting on Wednesday, June 24 from 12-1:00 p.m.
The discussion on Laying PRO Foundations in a New World: Leveraging Personal Knowledge and Skills in the ATD Capability Model, offers a fun, engaging, valuable and robust session on mastering PROACTive learning strategies. These strategies can help us better anticipate and respond to changing needs, leveraging personal capabilities to support organizational strategy and generate competitive advantage.
Now based in the U.S., but still globally focused, Barbour specializes in strategically integrated program planning and autonomous learning for intercultural communications and global community building. She helps learning professionals become enabled to think differently about how they support employees at work and make their jobs easier by giving them the information and learning they need just when they need it.
Barbour will help attendees become more conversant with the ATD Capability Model in the areas of Cultural Plans and Communication, Strategic Planning and Critical Thinking. Attendees will also learn PROACTive inner-cultural strategies and perspectives that can help with personal and interpersonal skills for improved outcomes. They will also walk away with defined next steps for a personal development plan to move beyond this difficult time and foster innovation.
