To continue its mission of providing weekend meals for local school children, Blessings in a Backpack SWFL and fashion-lifestyle retailer Kendra Scott have partnered to create a special offer that benefits both Blessings and its friends.
Through online sales on June 25 and in-store sales on June 26, supporters of Blessings in a Backpack can receive 20% off their purchases. In addition, Kendra Scott will also donate an additional 20% from all sales resulting from this promotion to Blessings in a Backpack. The two-day promotion will support Blessings in a Backpack’s movement to end childhood hunger.
“It only takes $115 to provide meals for 36 weekends for one school-aged child,” said Cecilia St. Arnold, Blessings in a Backpack SWFL managing director. She added, “This past school year, we were able to feed 5,300 children. Our goal for the upcoming year is to provide weekend meals for 6,000 children. With the help of sponsors like Kendra Scott, our friends, and our community, we can do it.”
Blessings serves students through 25 school-based programs located throughout Lee and Collier Counties. In these schools, test scores, reading skills, positive behavior, general health, and school attendance have improved dramatically due in part to students receiving the nourishment they need throughout the week and the weekends.
