Cape Coral Community Foundation announces finalists for ENPY awards

The Cape Coral Community Foundation is pleased to announce 30 named finalists for the second annual Excellence in Nonprofit Performance Yearly Awards, also known as the ENPYs. The finest nonprofit organizations, leaders, volunteers, staff and business partners in Southwest Florida will be recognized at the awards luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Bell Tower at 13051 Bell Tower Drive in Fort Myers, with a winner named in 10 categories.

A panel of impartial non-local judges selected three finalists from an online nomination process in each of the following categories:

Nonprofit Board Leader of the Year (board member)

  • Haris Domond, Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida
  • J. Thomas Uhler, Southwest Florida Symphony
  • Therese Everly, Lee Health

Nonprofit Organization of the Year (established more than three years ago)

  • Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples
  • Good Wheels
  • Heights Foundation

Nonprofit Executive of the Year (CEO, president, executive director)

  • Bonnie Schnell, Cape Coral Housing Development
  • Diana Giraldo, Streets Alive
  • Karen Watson, Our Mother’s Home

Nonprofit Employee of the year (paid staff member)

  • Aida Osmic, Lutheran Services Florida
  • Aimee McLaughlin, Big Brother Big Sisters
  • Terry Reuling, Lifeline Family Center

Business Partner of the Year (business who supports nonprofits and the community)

  • Entech
  • Jason’s Deli – Diana Willis
  • Priority Marketing

Nonprofit Volunteer of the Year (individual who serves the organization and/or community)

  • Holly Bell, Multicultural Centre of Southwest Florida
  • Nancy Gibson, Dress for Success of Southwest Florida
  • Scott Carpenter, The Laboratory Theatre of Florida

Nonprofit Rising Organization of the Year (established less than three years ago)

  • Family Initiative
  • Path 2 Freedom
  • Wolfhounds Legacy

In addition, the Paul Sanborn Service Above Self Award, the Elmer Tabor Generosity Award and the Community Impact Award will be presented to three inspirational individuals. The Organization of the

Year and Rising Organization of the Year will each be awarded a grant from the Cape Coral Community

Foundation.

The ENPYs award luncheon is expected to host a sell-out crowd of 200 community leaders from across Southwest Florida.
