Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund gets a fresh look In time for kickoff of annual charity golf tournament

November 23, 2021 CONRIC PR

The Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund, which supports the continued educational journeys of high school students, announces the launch of its 2022 scholarship campaign and a new, fresh look for its logo and website, as it prepares for one of the non-profit’s biggest annual fundraisers, the Dollars for Scholars Annual Golf Classic.

The golf classic is scheduled for Dec. 4 at Coral Oaks Golf Course. Registration is now open on the fund’s website at capecoralmayorscholarship.com. Players will enjoy course games, lunch, drinks, prizes, and a chance to win a new vehicle for a hole in one! You can join golf classic presenting sponsors Nor-Tech Hi Performance Boats and Cape Coral Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram as a supporter and sponsor, helping ensure the ongoing success and growth of the Cape Coral Mayors Scholarship Fund.

With a new disbursement process for scholarships, qualifying students are now eligible for a recurring $1,000 scholarship for four years for college bound students, and two years for students attending technical schools. Each recipient must meet qualifying criteria, including GPA and course load.

“Community support is crucial in our efforts to award the most scholarships possible, as the entire program is funded by the generosity of donors and sponsors and run by volunteers.” said Cape Coral Mayor John Gunter. “The program relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to assist our local students with the tools to be successful and fulfill their dream of attending college, technical or trade school.”

The rebranding of the logo and website better reflect the scholarship fund’s relationship to the City of Cape Coral, education, and its history, while the new scholarship campaign will provide greater impact for students thanks to an enhanced disbursement plan.

“We’re excited to share our new logo and website just in time for the tournament,” said Joanne Hayden, chair of the mayor’s scholarship fund board. “What a great opportunity for supporters of the event and the students to enjoy and experience the upgrades first-hand.”

The new logo incorporates bright colors like those used in the city’s logo. A wise owl and stacked school books depict intelligence, with “Est. 1982” added to the book spine to pay homage to the start and subsequent history of the scholarship fund. The website has been redesigned to reflect this new branding and improve efficiency and the overall user experience.

Since the fund’s inception, all of Cape Coral’s past and present mayors have supported this worthy cause.
