Arch Capital Advisory Group of Raymond James is honored to announce that Associate Vice President and Certified Financial Planner Duane Chaney is the recipient of the Distinguished Volunteer Award presented by The Association of Fundraising Professionals – Collier-Lee Chapter. The award was presented to Chaney on November 17 in celebration of National Philanthropy Day as part of a live-streamed program to honor philanthropists and volunteers for their outstanding work in the community.

Chaney was honored for his work as the founder of Madisen’s Match, a first-class charity tennis event featuring some of the best tennis players in the world. The event has grown over the past 12 years to include a gala, live and silent auctions, tennis clinics with the pros, a kid’s clinic and a full pro exhibition hosted in a college arena. To date, Madisen’s Match has raised more than $1.3 million for the Lee Health Foundation.

Chaney started the event in 2008 after his niece Madisen was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor at the age of three. He decided to use the energy and emotion from this experience to create a fundraising event benefiting the Lee Health Foundation and better equip doctors to fight pediatric cancer. Chaney logs hundreds of hours each year organizing the many facets of the event and enjoys connecting with the very children who have benefited directly from the fundraising efforts of events like Madisen’s Match.

He said of the award, “I am truly honored to be recognized for the philanthropic and volunteer work that has made Madisen’s Match a success over the years. The event is a labor of love that started as a way for me to support my niece and those like her battling cancer. It has since become one of the biggest charity tennis events in the country and has made a huge impact on cancer care locally.”
