Dr. Piper Center unveils new website and brand identity

November 23, 2020 CONRIC PR

With more than four decades serving Southwest Florida seniors and youth, the Dr. Piper Center for Social Services has become a familiar name to many across the region. Today, the nonprofit is focusing even more closely on its history as it reintroduces itself to the community with a new brand identity. The rebranding initiative includes a new name, website, logo and tagline.

The organization, now known simply as Dr. Piper Center, seeks to enhance the social and economic well-being of older Southwest Floridians and make a positive impact in the lives of frail elderly, at-risk youth and special needs children by “empowering seniors to create community impact.” Its namesake, Dr. Ella Mae Piper, was a pioneering African American businesswoman and humanitarian who donated her estate to provide a place for children and the elderly. Today, the center continues the charitable initiatives Dr. Piper and her mother began more than 100 years ago.

Perhaps the most important element of Dr. Piper Center’s new brand is the agency’s website. The new site provides expanded details about the agency’s mission and programs, and visitors can apply to become volunteers online. Donors can use the website’s online form to make a contribution to the nonprofit, which is funded through individuals, grants, foundations, corporations and the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee Counties.

“The Dr. Piper center thrives today because of the generosity of Dr. Piper and our entire community,” said Nida Eluna, Executive Director of the Dr. Piper Center. “It’s important for people to see the effects of their gifts, and our new website provides that. Donors can understand exactly where their contributions go and who they’re helping when they donate online.”

The center’s new logo pays respect to Dr. Piper’s sense of fashion, featuring the stylish wide-brimmed feathered hat she wore in her most well-known portrait. The logo’s color palette of violet and coral evoke a solid foundation with a soft heart. The logo is displayed with the organization’s new tagline: “Empowering seniors to create community impact.”

“We’re thrilled to be able to pay tribute to Dr. Piper and celebrate her personal mission,” said Eluna. “Her legacy is indivisible from our organization, and our new logo respects her importance in our community. We see a little piece of Dr. Piper every time we look at it.”
