Explore benefits of employee-owned businesses at SRMA event

August 4, 2022 CONRIC PR

The Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association (SRMA) will host an ESOP seminar at 2 p.m., on August 23, at Pelican Wire to help businesses explore employee stock ownership plans. Guests will then take a tour of the Pelican Wire manufacturing plant located at 3650 Shaw Blvd., in Naples.

The event is sponsored by Bank of America and Pelican Wire, a local manufacturer of resistance and thermocouple wiring solutions for the aerospace, automotive, medical, wind farming, and robotics industries. Attendees will learn and observe best practices in action on the production floor. Pelican Wire prides itself on innovation, dedication to continuous learning and growth, and being a results driven, employee-owned company.

Jason Miller, ESOP Solutions National Director with Bank of America, will present a one-hour session on “ESOP: What does this mean to owners and their companies?” and Ted Bill, CEO of Pelican Wire, will share his first-hand knowledge of the benefits of being an employee-owned business.  Following the tour, guests can enjoy networking, wine and beer, and appetizers from 4 to 5 p.m.

In October, SRMA will be working with career and technical education directors in the area to organize student field trips at participating manufacturing companies. The goal is to help raise awareness of the incredible products created locally and advanced technologies that are creating desirable workplaces for today’s youth. Manufacturing and its economic impacts are seen and felt every day of the year. It’s important to acknowledge this key industry every October as Manufacturing Month and to inspire and open doors for future manufacturing professionals. If you are a manufacturer or educational leader who would like to participate, please visit the SRMA website and complete the registration form.

The manufacturing industry is alive and well in Southwest Florida, and the SRMA works to bring manufacturers together to promote industry and individual growth through networking opportunities, making connections, sharing resources, and community involvement.
