FPRA Southwest Florida Chapter collects hundreds of toys for children

December 15, 2020 CONRIC PR

The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association announced that the organization collected over 200 toys and gift cards to benefit Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida as part of a holiday gift drive honoring a late member.

Members of the organization collected toys throughout the month of December, culminating in a final donation event on Friday, Dec. 11. Five local businesses also served as drop-off locations for the toys: Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, M&M Multimedia, Priority Marketing, Pushing the Envelope and SWFL, Inc.

The toys will be donated to the gift room at Children’s Advocacy Center, where children and families can choose gifts for siblings and themselves for the holidays. Children’s Advocacy Center works with families and children who are victims of abuse and neglect, providing therapeutic counseling, parent education and prevention programs to children in Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties.

The toy drive was in memory of Janet Wilson, a longtime FPRA member, public relations professional and media representative in Southwest Florida who died in 2019.
