Magazine, newsletter and website honored for public relations program excellence

The Lee County Bar Association (LCBA) is proud to announce its communications program, consisting of its member magazine and a new electronic newsletter and website, has been awarded the prestigious Award of Distinction by the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Southwest Florida Chapter during its 2015 Local Image Awards Event.

The Award of Distinction was awarded for excellence for the LCBA’s three member engagement tools in the Public Relations Programs Division in the category of Internal—any program developed to communicate with internal publics such as employees, shareholders, association members, etc. The public relations program was produced in cooperation with Fort Myers-based CONRIC PR & Marketing | Publishing, which began publishing the magazine in November 2010 and produced the e-newsletter and website in October 2014.

The LCBA was honored for having met the judges’ standard of excellence for creating communication tools that serve to increase membership, engagement and leads for its Lawyer Referral Service. The comprehensive member outreach program was also judged on its success in improving the professional image of the organization, and was launched to coincide with the LCBA’s 2015 theme of Professionalism and Ethics.

The Local Image Awards competition is conducted annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in the region. In the interest of impartiality, entries for the local Image Awards are judged by FPRA chapters outside the area, with the Gainesville Chapter having judged the Southwest Florida Chapters’ entries in 2015.

LCBA Executive Director Sharon Brotherton said, “We are constantly on the lookout for any tools or programs to help our nearly 800 member attorney and judges gain greater benefits from their investment in the LCBA. Our website, magazine and e-newsletter help us educate, engage and inform our members in the most direct and comprehensive manner.”
