Lipman Family Farms hosts 7th annual Backpack Giveaway

July 9, 2018 CONRIC PR

Hundreds of students will receive the essential supplies they need ahead of the new school year thanks to the Lipman Family Farms Backpack Giveaway and Back to School Event. The 7th annual event is expected to draw over 2,000 attendees on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Immokalee High School Football field at 701 Immokalee Drive.

Lipman Family Farms, America’s largest open field tomato grower, will give away over 1,500 backpacks, 200 bikes, gift cards and free back-to-school haircuts to elementary and middle school students in Immokalee. Students must be present with their parent or guardian to receive free school supplies such as notebook paper, folders, crayons, glue, pencils and pens.

Attendees can enjoy music, food, face painting and games thanks to the generosity of local business owners, sponsors and more than 40 vendors. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office will be on site with a rock climbing wall and Ciclovia Immokalee will get children moving with physical activities, making it a great family-fun day.

The free event lends a helping hand to students and families in need while celebrating the start of the 2018-2019 school year. Lipman Family Farms held a successful 5K walk and run in April generating enough proceeds that they foresee being able to provide every child in attendance with a backpack, eliminating the need for families to arrive early and form a line.
