Local media pros to share tips on getting coverage

Positive media coverage usually comes from knowing what the media is looking for. Several prominent media figures will share their secrets during of the Above Board Chamber of Florida’s upcoming “How to Get Discovered by the Media” luncheons.

The chamber is giving away nearly $40,000 worth of commercial time, ad placement and other prizes at the meetings. Only those who attend the meetings as chamber members are eligible to receive the prizes. Visit aboveboardchamber.com to join.

The first seminar takes place on Monday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Naples on 5111 Tamiami Trail N. Public relations expert Sue Huff of E. Sue Huff and Associates will moderate the following panel:

  • Mary Ann Battle, editor, The Banner at the Naples Daily News.
  • Peter Busch, anchor, NBC2.
  • Sharon Hood, founder and publisher, è Bella Magazine.
  • Corey Lazar, anchor, WINK.
  • Paul Lodato, general manager, CTN Southwest Florida.
  • Karen Moore, publisher, Southwest Florida Business Today.
  • Jay Schlichter, Collier/Lee editor, Business Observer.
  • Eric Strachan, Naples editor, Florida Weekly.
