Naples Senior Center at JFCS adds longtime medical exec to board

May 2, 2018 CONRIC PR

An experienced leader who helped expand senior care resources on Marco Island has joined the Naples Senior Center at JFCS Board of Trustees. U.S. Navy veteran Brian F. Bremer took his place on the board in March, but his connection to the Senior Center began well before that.

Bremer’s wife, who suffers from the effects of dementia, has been helped by the center’s Dementia Respite Support Program in Marco Island, one of their eight support groups across Collier County for people with early- to mid-stage dementia. Bremer was the impetus behind the effort to bring the program to Marco Island, and he and his daughter served on a steering committee that resulted in the first group starting in October 2017. Today, there are two weekly groups on the island.

“Mr. Bremer has proven his ability to bring resources to seniors in our community who need them,” says Dr. Jaclynn Faffer, President/CEO of Naples Senior Center at JFCS. “I’m really looking forward to working with him on behalf of our seniors now that he is part of our board. It’s exciting to bring someone of his passion and ability into our organization.”

Bremer is also on the board of Medcor Inc., which helps companies connect their employees to medical care. He was formerly president and chief operating officer for dental supply makers Kerr Manufacturing Company and Austenal Inc., and he was corporate vice president of Sybron International Corp. and American Hospital Supply Corp., a pair of medical device manufacturers. He’s a past member of CroBern Management Partnership LLP, which invests in healthcare companies and assists in their growth and development.
