With soaring prices on everyday items, Pavese Law Firm wants to help local families who are finding it hard to make ends meet. The firm is sponsoring a Day of Caring on August 13, at the United Way School Resource Center in Fort Myers, where the team will pack daily hygiene items needed for Lee County students as they return to school.
“We understand that increasing prices are straining local families and the added expenses to send children back to school can be extremely difficult for some to manage,” said said Chene Thompson, Co-Managing Partner at Pavese Law. “Children should have everything they need to be set up for success in learning and having our team come together to help those in need can have a tremendous impact on local students.”
United Way’s Days of Caring is a year-round program that connects corporate and community groups with nonprofit agencies in need of assistance. Groups who have participated in United Way Volunteer Center projects report they feel more connected to their community and their group members while working to help people in need. Pavese Law’s Day of Caring will also represent an opportunity for the firm’s families and new attorneys to come together and collaborate while getting to know each other.
“We will be sorting and packing necessities like shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste and other items into bags so they can easily be added to school supplies that have been requested for students by the school’s social worker or counselor,” said Thompson. “It’s a great time for the team to get to know each other outside of the office and it’s a feel-good team effort to support the community.”
