The latest glass-making technology housed in a state-of-the-art building will be on display when Southwest Florida-based MY Shower Door / D3 Glass hosts its first-ever ribbon cutting on Tuesday, March 10, at its new Fort Myers headquarters, located at 16431 Domestic Ave.
The event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with a ceremony by Lee County Sheriff’s Office color guard followed by a short greeting and ceremonial ribbon cutting. Elected officials in attendance also will be recognized.
Invited guests will then have the opportunity to tour the 60,000-square-foot facility and there will be an interactive glass demonstration where annealed glass is changed into safety glass, by means of a state of the art tempering oven. Also, a demonstration showing the strength of laminated (impact rated) glass. A new racking system for glass will also be on display. After a tour of the new facility, there will be a short dedication and presentation of a plaque in honor of MY Shower Door / D3 Glass co-owner Donna Daubmann’s late father, Donald.
“We get to show off this great new building and our state-of-the-art technology to the community and our commitment to excellence,” said co-founder Bill Daubmann, whose company was recently named a finalist for the Florida Small Business Development Center Distinguished Entrepreneur of Southwest Florida Award after winning a Horizon Council Industry Appreciation Award as Manufacturer of the Year last year.
