FORT MYERS, Fla. (Dec. 27, 2022) – Founded in 1994, Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida (JA) and the organizations that support it have been shaping the workforce of the region for nearly three decades. On Tuesday, April 18, at 5:30 p.m., the nonprofit’s prestigious 2023 Business Hall of Fame event will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, honoring influential, visionary leaders and organizations that have made a significant impact and elevated the educational landscape for local youth regarding financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work-readiness.
“These outstanding entrepreneurs and organizations serve as mentors and role models for Southwest Florida’s students, leading by example through their professional accomplishments and commitment to the community,” said Angela Fisher, president, and CEO of Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida. “There have been more than 150 local Laureates named since 1975. We will reveal this year’s honorees soon. We are so proud to acknowledge their contribution to the region’s up-and-coming future professionals and the community at large.”
JA and local organizations influence each other by connecting with students at their greatest point of influence to help guide young adults in life skills and future career goals. Middle and high school students are better prepared for transitioning into adulthood and the working world with a higher rate of success as the result of JA programs, which are supported by donations and grants.
SWFL is facing a workforce shortage crisis that will devastate economic development if sustainable solutions are not implemented. Local businesses that invest in JA are investing in solutions to long-term labor shortages, escalating recruitment costs, and job retention challenges. Junior Achievement’s purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Alumni have a track record of earning a college degree, have confidence in managing money, and achieve career success. Many have started their own business.
JA’s work readiness programs include JA Inspire, JA Career Connect, JA Career Exploration Fairs, JA It’s My Future, JA Career Success, JA Job Shadows, JA Career Speaker Series, and JA Economics for Success. 2023 JA Inspire will take place shortly after the Hall of Fame event, from April 26 to 28, providing real-world opportunities for students to engage and connect with career mentors and businesses through hands-on activities.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for both events, and they are critical for JA to continue providing life-changing programs to our community’s future professionals. Hall of Fame sponsorships place your business in front of more than 500 distinguished attendees and community leaders, plus countless others who will see promotional materials for one of the largest business events in all of Southwest Florida.
