Local businesses have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the young women residing at Our Mother’s Home (OMH) in Fort Myers. Sponsorship packages for the organization’s largest event of the year, Women on the Rise, are now available to help OMH provide teen mothers with a supporting environment to stay with their children, learn life skills and continue their education.
“Our sponsors make it possible for us to provide these young girls and their children with a safe space to thrive,” said Our Mother’s Home Executive Director Alicia Miller. “This year’s event will pave the path of an exciting future for our girls. We are proud to provide an opportunity for the women in our community to focus on their mental health and wellness while helping Our Mother’s Home further our mission of empowering young mothers.”
The mission of Our Mother’s Home is to help teen mothers and their children transition from foster care to stable, productive lives by breaking the cycle of generational poverty. At this year’s event, OMH will present the first Dr. Teresa Sievers Pathway to Freedom Fund to one of the young women living in the home, allowing her to accomplish her goals without the burden of financial restraints in honor of Dr. Teresa Sievers.
Women on the Rise will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at The Collaboratory in Fort Myers. Several guest speakers and an expert panel of professionals will share their insight on how women can live happier and healthier lives.
