Southwest Florida manufacturers now have several ways to connect with the resources they need to grow. The Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association, better known as SRMA, recently unveiled its new logo along with a robust schedule of events for the 2018-19 season that will empower industry professionals to learn, network and develop their businesses.

“We’re excited about our new look and lineup of educational and social events geared specifically to manufacturers in the Southwest Florida market,” SRMA Executive Director Neil Kagan said. “Together, we can tackle the challenges we face as manufacturers and drive progress with cooperation, fresh ideas and the tools necessary for success now and in the future.”

The SRMA provides the manufacturing community with access to tax breaks, grants, training, marketing and more. Roundtable discussions on issues that affect manufacturers will take place from 8-9:30 a.m. on each of the following dates at CareerSource Southwest Florida, 4150 Ford Street Extension, Fort Myers. There is no cost to attend.

  • Aug. 29 — The Seven Deadly Sins of Manufacturing.
  • Sept. 26 — Hiring Options.
  • Oct. 24 — Lean & Mean Manufacturing.
  • Nov. 21 — Employment Law.
  • Dec. 19 — Year-End Wrap-up.
  • Jan. 23 — Importing.
  • Feb. 27 — Permitting.
  • March 27 — Protecting Intellectual Property.

Other events on the schedule will provide manufacturers with networking opportunities. An After Hours Social is set for Oct. 17 from 5-7:30 p.m. at List Distillery, 3680 Evans Ave., Fort Myers. The cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members.

A holiday party is on the books for Dec. 22, and another After Hours Social is slated for March 20, with the time, location and cost of those gatherings to be determined.

Additional events, including manufacturing plant tours, will be scheduled as SRMA continues to help local manufacturers leverage the marketplace to their advantage through advocacy, education and cooperation.
