FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 7, 2023) – Save the date for the 5th annual Tommy Bohanon Foundation Playmakers Tailgate Party on Friday, March 31, from 6 to 10 p.m., at the Ranch Concert Hall and Saloon. With support from donors and prominent local businesses, this event celebrates all the hard work and funds raised for children in need in the Southwest Florida community. The Tommy Bohanon Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young athletes to reach their highest potential on and off the playing field. Its programs and community outreach have helped countless kids and families in the area.
“The 2022 Tailgate Party raised a record-breaking $131,000 for local students and families,” said Tommy Bohanon, former NFL fullback and Bohanon Foundation founder. “We can’t wait to see what this year holds. We are fortunate to have such a generous community that makes it possible for us to help local kids and families in need.”
Every year at the Playmakers Tailgate Party the foundation aims to ease the financial burden of higher education by granting scholarships to high school student-athletes for their continued achievements and success. This year they are selecting four $10,000 scholarships to award students who have exceeded in academics, sports, and leadership. As the foundation grows since it began in 2017, it continues to increase its scholarships and programs that are helping at-risk youth to believe in their abilities, achieve success, and develop future leaders.
The Playmakers Tailgate Party will be hosted by local comedian RC Smith, who will provide laughter and entertainment throughout the night as guests enjoy a catered dinner, cocktails, dessert, awards, raffles, a silent auction, and a special brew Millennial Brewing Co. is developing in collaboration with Tommy Bohanon just for this night!

The Tommy Bohanon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young athletes to reach their highest potential on and off the playing field.
