Community leader and former Fort Myers mayoral candidate Jacquelyn D. McMiller has joined Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner, Attorneys for the Injured, as the law firm’s community service coordinator.
The law firm, a family-owned, family-focused team of personal injury attorneys, has a long history of community engagement. Cheryl Scheiner, Bruce Scheiner’s wife and firm administrator, founded the firm’s Make a Difference Award nearly two decades ago – and since that time the firm has provided tens of thousands of dollars of financial assistance to local middle and high school students in recognition of their community service work in the Southwest Florida community.
In furtherance of their effort to give back to the community they serve, the firm is proud to announce their partnership with McMiller, a life-long resident of Fort Myers with twenty-five years of public service experience. Consistent with her career of public service and her commitment to the Fort Myers community, McMiller ran for Mayor of the City of Fort Myers in 2020 and became the first African-American woman in Fort Myers’ history to advance to a November runoff in the mayoral election.
McMiller will play a pivotal role in community outreach, service, and support within the Fort Myers and Lee County area. Much like the Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner family, McMiller has dedicated her personal and professional life to helping those in need. She has been recognized by the 20th Judicial Circuit as an expert in her field of Child Safety Methodology. Her years of commitment to the community have built a foundation for McMiller to continue to be a force for positive change in our community. After all, McMiller has always strove to be a voice for those whose lives have been turned upside down, helping the less fortunate to reach the light at the end of what can – for many – be a long and dark tunnel.
