Evan Lubell Spoke to the Labelle Rotary Club

November 5, 2012 CONRIC PR

Evan Lubell, a Partner at the law firm of Aloia, Roland & Lubell, LLP, spoke to the Labelle Rotary Club at the Beef O’Brady’s in Labelle about the $15 billion BP Oil Spill Settlement and how local business owners can qualify to recover money that was lost between April 2010 and December 2010 due to the oil spill disaster.

Most businesses and individuals in Southwest Florida were impacted in one way or another by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster in April 2010. Some businesses had to layoff workers, or file for bankruptcy. BP has taken full responsibility, and allocated these funds to help small businesses with their recovery. Thousands of businesses affected by the disaster will be compensated for their economic losses. Frank Aloia, of Aloia, Lubell & Roland, LLP, has made it his mission to let business owners and individuals know that the funds are available, and help them determine if they may qualify for these funds.

“I am hoping to give an understanding of the purpose of the settlement, the settlement conditions and process,” says Lubell. “Specifically, we want to make sure that our local business owners are aware of their right to be compensated for their lost earnings in the months following the April Horizon Oil Spill Disaster,” adds Lubell.

After participating in the event, Fred Kobie, President of Kobie Kooling, Inc. and member of the Labelle Rotary Club had this to share, “I was surprised to learn that all four of my businesses qualify for review and there are only a few industries that are specifically disqualified”.
