Need-based grants available to manufacturers through ARPA fund

May 3, 2022 CONRIC PR

The Southwest Florida Manufacturers Association (SRMA) in collaboration with Lee County Economic Development Office, is offering a Small Business Technical Assistance Program to assist manufacturing businesses in response to COVID-19, and their continuing efforts to recover from the negative impact.

The program was developed under the direction of the Lee Board of County Commissioners and is funded through the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

The Small Business Technical Assistance Program will provide ARPA funds to the SRMA, helping them target manufacturers in Qualified Census Tracts and Low to Moderate Income designated areas. The SRMA will provide free assessments to identify the root cause(s) of the manufacturer’s challenges and offer resources to help bring them back to pre-COVID-19 levels or exceed them. The SRMA will assist with the application process for need-based grants to help pay for those resources.

The menu of services offered to over 90 identified manufacturers are:

  • Assessment of business needs,
  • Strategic Planning,
  • Performance Optimization,
  • Business Continuity,
  • Data and Business Intelligence,
  • Growth Acceleration and
  • International Trade.

SRMA is also hosting a Use and Sales Tax for Manufacturers Webinar, sponsored and presented by CLA, on May 19, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Do you know when manufacturers need to pay sales tax? If you did not get charged sales tax, do you need to pay use tax? The answers to these questions are not as black and white as you think! Let the experts at CLA explain the various scenarios and provide answers to your specific questions during this in-person seminar.
