Registration is now open for Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter’s 2016 PR University

Registration is open for The Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter’s (FPRA SWFL) PR University, “Navigating the Future.” This professional development seminar will bring together some of the best public relations professionals from across the Sunshine State to examine trends in the changing market and the fusion of new media opportunities with traditional communications elements. PRU takes place on Thursday, October 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers.

Topics and speakers for the seminar include:

  • “Getting Saucy: How to Stay Relevant above the Noise” with Tijuana Flats Chief Marketing Officer Monique Yeager. She will talk about how maintaining relevancy in our noisy world involves putting people first, always; and how thinking outside the box and being creative in all areas of business will keep you on top.
  • “Top Ten Apps for PR Pros” with Pushing the Envelope President Samantha Scott, APR. Scott will help attendees learn about the top 10 apps for public relations professionals and how-to tips to implement them – and make their job a little easier.
  • “Social Media 2.0: The Live Streaming Revolution” with Fuller Online Solutions President Ingrid Fuller. She will teach attendees all about the most popular the most popular live streaming sites and apps, how to use them to your advantage, and how to stand out.
  • “The Digital Consumer Experience” with News-Press Media Group Digital Engagement Editor Cory O’Donnell and News-Press Media Group Audience/Metrics Analyst Dave Breitenstein.  They will address new ways for attendees to connect and engage with an online audience. Breitenstein will also discuss maximizing digital engagement by knowing what’s trending with an audience through analytics.

Registration for PR University closes on October 3 and the cost is $75 for members, $90 for non-members and $40 for students. This includes a continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments.
