State Farm to award $25,000 grants for innovative neighborhood improvement projects

May 11, 2021 CONRIC PR

Neighbors across the country will soon have an exciting opportunity to help change their communities for the better. For the tenth straight year, State Farm is rewarding innovative community projects and causes through State Farm Neighborhood Assist®. Cape Coral State Farm Agents Mike and Dawn Sullivan encourage local nonprofits to apply for the program, which will award $25,000 grants to 40 worthwhile causes to help fund neighborhood improvement projects.

“At State Farm, we want to inspire and empower people to get involved,” said Dawn Sullivan. “Our communities are in need of support now more than ever, and no matter what your passion, you can be a catalyst for positive change.”

Starting June 2, 2021 at 1 p.m., nonprofits are invited to submit their impactful causes at the State Farm Neighborhood Assist website: www.neighborhoodassist.com. The grant program will accept the first 2,000 submissions and select 200 finalists. An online vote will determine the top 40 causes.

The entry window concludes with the receipt of the 2,000th submission. In 2020, State Farm Neighborhood Assist received 2,000 applications in less than one hour. To prepare their entries, prospective applicants can download a submission guide from the State Farm Neighborhood Assist website.

To determine the 200 finalists, entries will be judged based on three criteria: how much the cause focuses on an unmet need in the community, how the $25,000 would address the unmet need, and the lasting impact of the project on the community.

“Last year, three of the 40 winning causes were based in Florida, though none were from our part of the state,” said Mike Sullivan. “This year, it would be great to see some local nonprofits benefit from State Farm Neighborhood Assist right here in Southwest Florida.”

State Farm Agents Mike and Dawn Sullivan are committed to being good neighbors in our community. The pair support a number of local charitable initiatives and are the founders of Sully’s House, a foundation that provides scholarships to deserving high school graduates in Southwest Florida.
