Every month, Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats picks one local charity to give back to and in May chose the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC). In honor of their generous donation, a decal of a Nor-Tech boat now permanently adorns a wall in the Parenting room at CAC. Nor-Tech has donated about a quarter-million dollars to the SWFL community in the past five years.
Nor-Tech became inspired by the Children’s Advocacy Center when the Cape Coral Police Department was collecting stuffed animals for the CAC annual toy drive. The CCPD put Henrik Margard, COO at Nor-Tech, in contact with Julie Boudreaux, CEO of CAC, to donate some bears. Julie invited the Nor-Tech team to take a tour of the CAC facility and they were immediately drawn to their passion for helping local children.
The relationship between Nor-Tech and the CAC didn’t end at 100 donated teddy bears and a tour. At Nor-Tech’s annual dealer meeting, they generously made a $10K donation to support the CAC’s mission and plan to continue supporting the organization.
“The CAC is so grateful to have immense support from local businesses. It’s an honor that Nor-Tech donated to our cause,” says Boudreaux. “We encourage people to take a tour of our center and support where they can. Donations like this help strengthen more families and children in the area than people realize.”
Since 1981, the CAC’s mission has been to provide a coordinated response to victims of child abuse and neglect to improve the lives of at-risk children and their families through prevention services. The CAC provides abuse determination services, therapeutic counseling, pet therapy, advocacy, and parenting education.
“It’s a sad reality that we have such a need for these services. What the Children’s Advocacy Center and its wonderful staff do is so important to the community,” says Margard. “We are happy to provide support for these children and families in need with the help of our partners and vendors.”
