Participants will learn from successful speakers, attend a job fair featuring well known retail employers, and receive:
- A cell phone
- A free outfit for job interviews
- An expense account to assist with the job search
- Retail certification at graduation
The GPN REAL initiative focuses on the retail industry as a viable sector-specific employment option for both unemployed and underemployed women to succeed in the workplace and to find upward mobility in their careers. This REAL retail training includes education in communication styles and problem solving, style and personal branding, phone interview techniques, transferrable skills, and leadership and management techniques.
Dress for Success SW Florida is one of about a dozen affiliates of Dress for Success Worldwide to have received a portion of a $2.5-million grant from the Walmart Foundation intended to increase the economic mobility of entry level workers to advance their careers.
