Holiday Magic & Snow Festival bring winter joy to Cape Harbour

October 28, 2016 CONRIC PR

The occurrence of snow flurries in Southwest Florida has been supported only by a smattering of anecdotal reports over the last few decades. This winter, though, reports of the fluffy white stuff will be confirmed by photographic evidence, and at Cape Harbour Marina of all places! Get ready for the Holiday Magic & Snow Festival from 6 – 10 p.m. on Friday Nov. 18 and Sat. Nov. 19 for lots of seasonal cheer hosted by Fathoms Restaurant & Bar and the French Press.

Santa arrives at Cape Harbour at 6 p.m. on Friday for the lighting of the Christmas tree and will visit until 9 to light up the children’s faces. A hot chocolate from the French Press or a gingerbread martini will bring visions of sugar plums as live music from Stolen Fruit sets the holiday mood. Gather with friends and family around the outdoor grill for special features from Fathoms. Delight in the tropical Gulf breezes and the knowledge that you have it so much better than the folks up in the frigid north.

The forecast for Saturday says “Let it snow!” And snow it shall, when Fathoms gets one over on nature, bringing in enough powder to cover about 90 square feet. Half Step Down provides the musical soundtrack for reveling in a winter wonderland. Festivalgoers will enjoy arts and crafts, face painting, raffles, a 3-D photo booth, dunk tank, an ice carving demonstration, games and more holiday joy to benefit the Gulf Coast Dutch Lions soccer academy. Bring your camera, so friends up north will believe you were standing in the driven snow in your Bermuda shorts!

Please note Fathoms and the French Press are closed on Thanksgiving day so staff can spend this precious holiday with their families.
