Ryan Sheehy lends expertise to aspiring start-up business developers in Southwest Florida

As part of the six-week Goodwill MicroEnterprise Institute, CONRIC PR & Marketing’s chief marketing strategist, Ryan Sheehy, will lend her expertise to a group of aspiring business developers on October 13 at Keiser University. Sheehy will guide participants through the planning process of campaign development and help individuals set “SMART” objectives in order to direct one’s marketing strategies effectively. SMART stands for specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, timed.

“Marketing communication strategy can be overwhelming to new business owners, so it’s important to articulate ‘the why’ of a program first. My goal is to teach individuals to think strategically before jumping into the tactics of a campaign,” Sheehy explained.

Sheehy leads CONRIC’s award winning creative marketing and communications team – championing new ways to amplify a message, maximize exposure and drive bottom line business objectives. As an accredited PR professional, she’s taught advertising and public relations to thousands of students at both the University of Central Florida in Orlando and Texas State University in San Marcos. Sheehy launched her career in Orlando, and has more than 16 years’ experience representing companies like Broadway Across America and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.

Goodwill’s MicroEnterprise Institute assists low- to moderate-income individuals who have a business idea to determine if the concept will be a standout in the marketplace.  During the six-week program, participants develop a feasibility plan while hearing from subject matter experts and working with a business coach. Since the program’s inception in 2010, Goodwill of Southwest Florida has more than 500 graduates with 185 individuals who have started and successfully sustained businesses.
